Evelien Baas - Founder and Director

Evelien Baas founded her company in 2001, both the name and emphasis of the company have changed over the years, but the principles behind the company are still the same; helping farmers manage their financial administration better.

Evelien has been selling, supporting and setting up Cashmanager Rural since 2000. When the Accredited Trainer program was introduced in 2005 she became an Accredited Trainer. In 2011 she became an MYOB certified consultant, as she had been supporting MYOB clients in her area and it seemed right to back it up with a qualification. In 2016 Evelien has become a member of the Institute of Certified NZ Bookkeepers and in 2017 she completed her Xero certification. She is a silver MYOB partner and a bronze Xero champion partner.

Her policy is to be friendly, approachable and create a customised system that works for you. So during a set-up or training, Evelien asks lots of questions about the business and how you run the business, to make sure everything is covered. Her aim is to set your software up correctly so it works for you and get you confident with your system. Evelien is always available to any of her clients after an initial training or set-up to help by phone or via the Internet until everything is under control.

Because she knows how Cashmanager Rural works inside and out and has practical knowledge about New Zealand farming systems, she also helps clients with their budgets on a regular basis. If you need help with a budget for the bank or for a proposed new venture Evelien is willing and able to help you.

If you do not want to do your GST returns, payroll, PAYE, or excise tax returns yourself Evelien is happy to take care of them for you. Her current clients vary from backcountry stations, dairy farmers on the West Coast, and in Canterbury, to farm consultants and agricultural contractors. This variety plus the long-standing relationships with many of the clients are the reasons why Evelien loves what she does.

Evelien has a Master of Science in Animal Husbandry from Wageningen University in the Netherlands. During her study and after her arrival in New Zealand she has worked as a relief milker on several dairy farms. From 2003 she was a shareholder in an equity partnership for a large dairy farm for 4 years, where she was responsible for all reporting to shareholders, financial administration & HR. Since 2002 Evelien has reared calves/grazed cattle (mostly supplied by clients) on her lifestyle block until her recent move to Christchurch in 2015.
